About Me

Welcome to my world.  The scoop on me:  I am married to a wonderful, VERY craft-tolerant man, and I have two grown children, one of whom I feature from time to time in these pages.  She is "the visiting artist."  I am retired, and my husband loves the fact that I have this hobby and never complain about being bored.  I don't have time to be bored!

I have always loved to craft.  I learned at a very early age that it was fun to make things, and I had an excellent role model, my mother, who sewed many of my and my sister's clothes, made the most beautiful Christmas decorations, and cooked like a chef.  We traveled overseas due to my father's job with the State Department, and to occupy our free time we crafted.  To this day I have many hobbies, some of which I'm better at than others, but all of which I love.  I used to sew my own clothes, I've painted (preferably in oils), I garden (I landscaped our property in its entirety by myself), cross stitch, bake, knit, crochet, make ornate Cracker Box Christmas ornaments, and most recently, machine embroider and make household decor items.  That is, until I discovered the wonderful world of making cards.  My daughter made very ornate journals for Christmas last year and I saw how much fun she was having with paper and embellishments, so I thought I'd try my hand at something smaller and simpler, cards.  And I haven't stopped since.  I also haven't picked up an ornament, cross stitch project, knitting needles, crochet hook, or any of my other hobbies since then, either.  I don't bake much, and my garden fortunately is finished except for the seasonal care.  I don't know where this new obsession will take me, but I'm going to enjoy the ride!

I , too, am retired, have done many of the crafts you listed and put them all away when paper crafting took over my crafting life. Aren't we having a great time not being bored. Your cards are lovely.
